What makes a good Photographer and Videographer?
Three Ingredients
- A Love of People
- Technical Skills
- Experience
I have worked hard over the last 25 years mastering the art of photography. Working in this field has allowed me to pursue my passion for photography as well as people. As you view my pictures and videos, you will see for yourself how I capture life's decisive moments.
Throughout my life I have been known as a people person. In high school I worked with children, as a camp counselor. In college I studied drama and film, which required a great understanding of people. After college I earned a Master's degree in Special Education and Guidance. From here, I became a special education teacher and subsequently a guidance counselor in high school and elementary school. Through my training and education, I have gained a greater respect for the necessity of being sensitive towards the needs of others. As my work became more well known I received invitations to lecture at camera clubs, Montgomery College photography classes and at private schools in the area. I currently direct the photography program at the Jewish Day School.
My experience and technical knowledge of photography and video started over 25 years ago when I joined the Professional Photographer's of America to seek out valuable educational opportunities. I began to study advanced techniques of posing, lighting, and taking portraits and candids, and started working in the community.
After more than 1000 jobs I find myself familiar with the local synagogues and area reception halls. I am proud to have worked with many of the popular party planners, florists, and hotel directors. And after 25 years, I still get excited about each new job as it is a chance to discover new people and new ways to improve my images. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to devote time and photographic services to the following charitable groups including but not limited to: UJA, JCA, BJE, JDS, JCC, JNF, The Weitzmann Institute, The Ring House, The Hebrew Home, and The Chabad House.
It has been a great 25 years for me pursuing photography and being involved in the community. My goal is to continue for another 25- Please join me.
